Andrew Regenscheid is a Mathematician in the Computer Security Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).   As part of the Cryptographic Technology Group, Andrew develops cryptographic standards and guidelines for the U.S. Federal government.  Since joining NIST in 2007, Andrew has worked on new cryptographic algorithm standardization efforts, including the international SHA-3 Competition, and guidelines on the use of cryptography to protect IT systems.  Currently, Andrew is coordinating the group’s review of its cryptographic standards development process and its existing body of cryptographic work.
