Ed Felten is the Director of the Center for Information Technology Policy at Princeton University as well as a professor of Computer Science and Public Affairs at Princeton. He was the first Chief Technologist at the Federal Trade Commission while on leave from Princeton.

His research interests include computer security and privacy, and public policy issues relating to information technology. Specific topics include software security, Internet security, electronic voting, cybersecurity policy, technology for government transparency, network neutrality and Internet policy.
